    Glycation is what happens when sugar binds to collagen and elastin — it stiffens them, and the result is the crepey, dull, inelastic quality we read as ‘aged’. Most creams ignore it entirely.

    How to use

    What’s the difference between this and ReNew?

    Job, not tier. ReNew is a light daytime veil focused on barrier and antioxidant defence, at $85. ReVitalize is a richer reparative cream focused on elasticity and anti-glycation, at $90, and it carries two plant stem cell sources rather than one. Dry or mature skin usually wants this one.

    Is Bakuchiol actually as good as retinol?

    It behaves similarly on texture and fine lines without the irritation, purging or sun-sensitivity retinol brings. If retinol works for you, keep it. If it never did, this is the route in.

    Will it feel heavy?

    It’s rich, not greasy — squalane and phospholipid based. Most people use it at night; in dry climates it’s comfortable during the day too.
